The Photonics Finland annual event OPD2018 on 28th – 30th May 2018 will be organized at the University of Jyväskylä campus, in the newly renovated main building designed by the world known architect Alvar Aalto. The meeting will present the latest developments in academic optics and photonics research as well as on progresses made by photonics companies. The special themes of the 2018 days are single photons, near-field optics and (bio)imaging.
The program consists of four high level plenary presentations, invited oral presentations from academia and companies, poster session and company exhibition. In the mornings, we run a single session and in the afternoons two parallel sessions. There will be a particular oral session for young scientists. The days will end in a public lecture by one of the most internationally known lighting designers in the country, Kari Kola.
Participants may enjoy a lively get-together party, coffee, lunches and the conference dinner. The conference dinner evening will include boat transportation to the dinner site and bus transport after dinner to a local pub for mingling and for listening to live music.
