DESCRIPTION:UEF’s popular presentations on Applications of Photonics will be again held this year as a series of hybrid lectures live in Joensuu & online in Microsoft Teams. The presentations are organized in collaboration with PREIN flagship and Photonics Finland. \n\n\n\nHosted by Professor Jyrki Saarinen and starting on October 24 (six lectures per week: Mondays at 14-16\, Wednesdays at 10-12 and at Thursdays 12-14)\, the lectures consist of applications of photonics and company overviews given by professionals of the field from various companies\, and after each lecture\, a dedicated discussion section offers networking possibilities to listeners from all around the world. \n\n\n\nMoreover\, the lectures are also included in Month of Photonics\, Photonics Center Opening Week\, PSRS Industrial Days\, Forest&Photonics 2022\, and MSc course at “Applications of Photonics” UEF. \n\n\n\nLectures can be joined in set presentation locations in UEF Joensuu campus\, or online via Microsoft Teams. DESCRIPTION:7.-11. November 2022 starting with the official opening of Joensuu Photonics Center\, the week’s programme consists of top presentations and case examples from industry and research as well as workshops and networking events. The events will take place at Photonics Center or in the Futura building on the UEF campus nearby. \n\n\n\nMon 7. November: Photonics Center opening day  \n\n\n\nThe grand opening of Joensuu Photonics Center for guests and media consists of high level speakers and presentations followed by a course in the Application of Photonics as well as a conference programme for industry professionals. \n\n\n\nTue 8. November: Seminar on Metrology for XR & Freeform Optics  \n\n\n\nThe purpose is to present the know-how and possibilities in metrology for XR and freeform optics in Finland. In addition\, manufacturing and especially the needs for XR and freeform optics metrology are presented. This full day seminar is free but registration is needed. The seminar takes place in Futura (F100) – UEF Campus (nearby Photonics Center). Read more about the event and registration here. \n\n\n\nWed 9.- Thur 10. November: Forest & Photonics 2022 \n\n\n\nForest & Photonics is a unique professional two-day event that brings together the forest and technology experts to network\, collaborate and share their experiences\, challenges and solutions. Forest & Photonics takes place in Futura (F100) – UEF Campus (nearby Photonics Center). The event is organized in collaboration with Business Joensuu\, Photonics Finland and the three flagships: PREIN\, FinnCERES and UNITE. Read more and register here. \n\n\n\nFri 11. November: Open House at the Photonics Center \n\n\n\nFriday’s programme consists of public lectures and presentations as well as workshops for example in Hyperspectral image acquisition. Anyone is welcome to visit Photonics Center and take part in the programme. DESCRIPTION:Photonics4Industry (P4I) ClusterXchange will be organised in conjunction with the Forest & Photonics (F&P) event that will take place on November 9-10th in Joensuu. The CXC event will start with a networking dinner on Tuesday evening and it will be combined with a workshop on Photonics4Forestry and followed by company visits on November 11th. The goal of this ClusterXchange is to initiate contact between the different organisations and companies attending the F&P event\, as well as sharing experiences and best practices. Many companies will be presenting their technologies like Argonaut\, KuvaSpace\, Specim\, Trioptics\, Bitcomp and many others. The companies visited on Friday will not necessarily be connected to Forestry. \n\n\n\nDiscount code for the hotel in Joensuu: BPHOTONICS to be use directly on the website Sokoshotels.fi for the Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna (Torikatu 20\, 80100 Joensuu). \n\n\n\nPreliminary program is available here.Registration for Forest&Photonics event (124€ incl. Visitors attending fully the 3 days-event and coming from another country than the country’s event can apply for funding (from 280€ to 475€ depending the destination) to partially cover the travelling costs and registration to the event.
