SUMMARY:Spectral Imaging and its Applications
DESCRIPTION:Spectral imaging is powerful tool in modern science\, machine vision\, medicine\, industry\, agriculture\, forestry\, arts\, and many other areas of modern human activities. Spectral imaging provides an easy way to compare and distinguish objects which look similar to human eyes\, but actually different.  \n\n\n\nThis one-day hands-on training course provides opportunity to understand how you can apply spectral imaging in your own field: science\, industry\, biology\, medicine\, arts. \n\n\n\nThe course will focus on three technology demonstrations: \n\n\n\n\nSpectra and spectroscopy – a simple way to distinguish objects; \n\n\n\nSpectral cameras and their applications; \n\n\n\nSpectral data processing using non-commercial software (on example of Python). \n\n\n\n\nCourse attendees will learn how they could arrange spectral measurements and spectral data processing in their own field. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, please see HERE. SUMMARY:Aalto Thesis Day 2024
DESCRIPTION:The event is for companies and other organisations that are looking for students to do Master’s thesis in research or development projects. In the event you will meet Aalto University’s international Master’s students from a wide range of disciplines and degree programmes. The participating students are looking for Master’s thesis positions\, primarily for spring 2025\, so the event is an excellent opportunity for companies to share their research topics and open thesis positions and find suitable students to them. Participation in the event is free of charge for companies. \n\n\n\nWhat: Networking event for companies and Aalto’s international students \n\n\n\nWhere: Aalto University\, Computer Science Building\, Konemiehentie 2 \n\n\n\nWhen: Wednesday 2 October 2024 at 12.00-16.00 \n\n\n\nWhy: Meet Master’s students who are looking for thesis placements and find a thesis worker for your company’s research or development project. \n\n\n\nFor whom: Research managers\, team leaders and supervisors\, recruiters \n\n\n\nHow: Registration for the event is now open and closes on Wed 18 September 2024. Event is free of charge for companies and employer organizations. More information HERE \n\n\n\nAalto Thesis Day 2024\, 2.10.2024\n\n\n\nFor many international students\, the Master’s thesis is the gateway to Finnish working life. International students who do their thesis in cooperation with a company or research organization are more likely to stay working in Finland after graduation\, which benefits both companies and the whole Finnish society. This year Aalto Thesis Day 2024 combines two previous events\, Aalto Thesis Fair and Aalto-EIT Matchmaking Event\, to reach more organizations and maximize the match with students from the diverse study fields of Aalto University. Organizations are also invited to join the European Institute of Information & Technology (EIT) Master Programs Track as a prelude to the joint networking session with all students. At the networking session\, companies will have stands where they can meet students and talk about research topics with them. \n\n\n\nAalto Thesis Day 2024 supports international Master’s students to find thesis opportunities in English at companies and employer organizations. Participating organizations can either have an open thesis position on offer\, or a foreseen opening for a thesis worker within their focus area. The event is best suited for organizational representatives working in research and development\, as well as supervisors and recruiters who are familiar with the organization’s ongoing research projects and topics.

SUMMARY:3rd European Symposiumon Ultrafast Laser driven Biophotonics
DESCRIPTION:For the third time\, the European Symposium on Ultrafast Laser-driven Biophotonics (ESULaB) will create an important platform for professional exchange between scientists from different fields\, including physicists\, chemists\, engineers\, material scientists\, biologists\, biomedical scientists and industry representatives. Taking place this September in Jena\, Germany\, this event promises to provide participants with up-to-date insights into trends and future perspectives that will inspire their own research. \n\n\n\nThe focus is on the latest advances and developments in the field of spectroscopy and imaging\, which are realized through the use of ultrashort laser pulses and contribute to solving biophotonic problems. The broad range of topics includes nonlinear imaging techniques such as SHG/THG microscopy and coherent Raman microscopy for medical diagnostics\, high-resolution imaging of biological structures using nonlinear phenomena (e.g. STED microscopy)\, as well as the use of wavelengths in the EUV/X-Ray range and ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy for the study of biological systems\, including the dynamics of protein folding using 2D spectroscopy. At the same time\, the translation of new diagnostic and biomedical approaches to market introduction and practical application is a key issue.  \n\n\n\nYou can look forward to more than 20 lectures by outstanding scientists in the field of nonlinear biophotonics\, who will present their research. An industry forum as a central part of the conference will again provide plenty of space for professional exchange of views\, stimulating discussions and networking. Users will be presented with the latest technical innovations in the fields of infrared\, Raman and terahertz spectroscopy as well as X-ray and EUV microscopy. \n\n\n\nMore information here: https://www.biophotonics4future.com/esulab2024/
