SUMMARY:BOOSTING PHOTONICS INNOVATION - HORIZON EUROPE "EIC ACCELERATOR CALL" - FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR START-UPS AND SMES
DESCRIPTION:Photonics21 together with the European Innovation Council is conducting an Online Seminar on their open call on the EIC Accelerator. \n\n\n\nThe Online Seminar is taking place on Monday May 10th at 4pm CET. We have envisaged around one hour for the online seminar including Q&A. \n\n\n\nWe invited Werner Steinhoegl and Andreas Lymberis from the European Commission to give an overview on how to apply for funding and which prerequisites have to be fulfilled. \n\n\n\nRegister now for the event and get first hand information on how to apply for funding. \n\n\n\nThe EIC Accelerator (previously known as SME Instrument) is part of the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot that supports top-class innovators\, entrepreneurs\, small companies and scientists with funding opportunities and acceleration services.Register for the event at Photonics 21 website

SUMMARY:Photonics 4 Sustainable Environment
DESCRIPTION:Photonics as the key to environmental sustainability\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is an official International Day of Light event. Read more: photonics.fi/idl/\n\n\n\nThe event is free of charge! This event will be held in English! \n\n\n\nIn cooperation with Photonics Austria this workshop aims to start a conversation about how photonics drives sustainability. Photonics enables high-tech solutions in many industries which contribute to protecting the environment and preserving resources. From reduced material consumption through to saving energy the impact of Photonics is evident. A recent study suggests that photonics applications have the potential to contribute to 3 billion tons less CO2 output already by 2030. \n\n\n\nIn this webinar we will discuss global environmental challenges\, the potential of photonics to solve those challenges and the potential\, diversity\, and capacity for innovation of photonics as an ‘enabler’ of sustainability. We will bring those topics also up for discussion in a Q&A with the speakers and during the matchmaking. \n\n\n\nThis webinar aims to bring together all industries that are implementing sustainable practices and the photonics industry\, so join us\, hear\, and discuss about Photonics as a driver of sustainability. \n\n\n\nWhat can you expect: \n\n\n\n2\,5h webinar with a variety of speakers0\,5h Q&A with the speakers1h matchmaking\n\n\n\nRegister for the event by 16th of May at the following LINK \n\n\n\nFor any questions contact PhD Ana Gebejes (+358414760113\, ana.gebejes@photonics.fi) \n\n\n\nProgram:\n\n\n\nAll times are in EEST \n\n\n\n13:00-13:15Event opening   Krista Mikkonen\, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change\, Ministry of the Environment\, Finland13:15-13:20Setting the Scene and WelcomeMag.phil.
