Role Overview:<\/strong>\u202fPhotonics Finland is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate our European projects and support our international collaborations. In this role, you will work closely with European partners and contribute to ensuring that Photonics Finland and its members gain maximum benefit from EU initiatives. You will join a small and agile team of five people, where each member has\u00a0a high level\u00a0of responsibility and a direct impact on our activities and international collaboration. Your work will focus on coordinating ongoing EU projects, supporting\u00a0communication\u00a0and reporting, and contributing to the preparation of new project proposals in collaboration with European partners. You will also\u00a0participate\u00a0in key Photonics Finland activities, such as the Optics & Photonics Days event. You will be supported in the role to ensure a smooth transition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Project Management:\u202f<\/strong>Coordinate the planning, implementation, and follow-up of European projects related to photonics (e.g. Horizon Europe), working closely with international partners and Photonics Finland member organizations. Act as a key contact point between Photonics Finland, project partners, and European institutions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.\u00a0More information on our current projects:\u00a0https:\/\/www.photonics.fi\/projects\/<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0
* Funding and Reporting:<\/strong>\u202fSupport project reporting and financial follow-up in line with EU requirements, in collaboration with project partners and coordinators. Contribute to the preparation of reports, documentation, and deliverables, ensuring compliance with funding rules.\u00a0
New project\u00a0Development:\u202fContribute to the preparation of new EU project proposals together with European partners and support the identification of relevant funding opportunities and partnerships.\u00a0
Qualifications:\u00a0<\/p>\n

* Education:<\/strong>\u202fBachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Physics, Business Administration, or a related field. A background in photonics or optics is considered an advantage.\u00a0
* Experience:<\/strong>\u202fAt least 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in European-funded projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, EUREKA, etc.).\u00a0
Skills:\u202f\u00a0Skills:\u00a0 Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine interest in collaboration and building networks. Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and keep projects progressing in a structured and proactive manner. Familiarity with project management tools and practices is beneficial.\u00a0
* Language<\/strong>:\u202fFluency in English is required; Finnish is an advantage.\u00a0
* Certifications:<\/strong>\u202fProject Management Professional (PMP) or similar certifications are advantageous.\u00a0
Requires travel to project meetings across Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n
