Merja Mäkisalo-Ropponen, Member of Parliament, Vice Chairman of the Future Committee

By my training, I am a nurse, a teacher of health care and Doctor of Health Sciences. The last 10 years I have worked as a working community trainer. In April of 2011 I was first time elected to the Finnish Parliament from the Social Democrats list.
In the last parliament term, I was Vice Chairman of the Future Committee, a member of the Working Life and Equality Committee and a vice-member of the Education Committee.
As the vice-chairman of the committee, for example, I acted as a contact person in the preparation of the Photonics Report commissioned by the Future Committee from Photonics Finland and wrote a foreword to the report. I have also talked much that there should be a uniform chain in Photonics education in Finland.
