The Optics and Photonics Days academic and industry conference program consists of submitted contributions as well as invited talks, plenary speakers, panel discussions and other related activity. Both sessions include oral presentations and poster presentations for which you may submit your abstract for review by the program committee and additional expert reviewers.
**Students in a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree program who are studying in a Finnish university during 2025 can Apply for a free OPD admission sponsored by Thorlabs. Application period has ended – Photonics Finland will contact to selected students.
Typographical instructions for the submissions are listed in the abstract template, which is available in Microsoft Word -format and LaTeX-format. The maximum length for the abstract is 1 page. The template for submission is available here: Submission template for OPD.
- The abstract is to be submitted no later than 28th February 2025 in the conference registration and submission portal Here.
Minimum requirements for submission are
- Submission type select (preferred oral or poster presentation),
- All authors, email addresses and organizations; list of authors must be identical to the submitted pdf-file,
- Title of Contribution,
- A short summary of the work (max 3 000 characters)
Poster session details and schedule
- Poster size is A0 (841 x 1189 mm), poster stands are 88 x 118 cm, pins will be provided.
- We do not print the posters for you.
- There will be two poster sessions (Wednesday & Thursday from 1PM to 2PM).
- Posters can be set in place in the morning of your session starting from 8AM. You can find out which session you are in here.
- Poster walls will be located at OPD venue / Scandic Marina Congress Center 2nd floor / lobby area.

OPD2024 ended with the The Best Poster Awards, which was given to Jokotadeola Odutola (middle) from Tampere University , and Sami Vesamäki (on the left) from Tampere university. The award for The Best Oral Presentation was given to Éva Bozó from University of Oulu (missing from the photo).
