Founded in 2001, the Summer School has become a leading educational event in the field of modern optical technologies, attracting over 120 participants each edition. Since 2023, the School has been dedicated to the memory of Professor Markus Pessa, founder of the Optoelectronics Research Centre in Tampere, honoring his profound contributions to the optics and photonics community.
