Interregional Deeptech and Photonics Support Network for Manufacturing
We are thrilled to unveil an initiative aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration across borders in the manufacturing sector. Spanning from January 1st, 2024 to December 31st, 2024, this ambitious project brings together six dynamic organizations from five countries under the coordination of Joanneum Research. The other partners are Bay Zoltan, Fraunhofer Italia – IEC, RRA Podravje – Maribor, Steirische Wirtschaftsförderung SFG, and Photonics Finland.
The goal of the project is to establish an interregional Deeptech innovation support network focused on manufacturing, with a special emphasis on Photonics. By harnessing the potential of cutting-edge technologies. The aim is to enhance company competitiveness and pave the way for an innovation valley where ideas flourish and industries thrive. The participating regions are situated in Austria, Finland, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia.
Through workshops, focus groups, peer learning sessions, delegation trips, and networking events, it will assess regional potentials in Deeptech and Photonics, align them with economic structures, and develop strategies for implementation. The aim is to create a roadmap for an innovation valley supported by a cascading funding scheme, empowering regional companies to embrace Deeptech and Photonics for enhanced competitiveness.

The partners compiled information on the available infrastructures in the regions involved to allow the other organisations to easily locate them and reach out to them when needed. The platform can be found here.

The objectives of our call:

- Creating a common international platform and network for promising researchers and entrepreneurs.
The best ideas receive non-cash prizes in the amount of 1.000€, including a trip to Budapest to receive their award.
