Photonics Finland and European Optical Society Launch Partnership to Boost Visibility of Finnish Photonics Research

Photonics Finland and the European Optical Society (EOS) have signed a collaboration agreement that opens new opportunities for Finnish researchers to publish their work in the highly regarded Journal of the European Optical Society – Rapid Publications (JEOS-RP) at a discounted rate.

JEOS-RP is an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal with a strong reputation for publishing high-quality research in optics and photonics. Known for its fast publication process, JEOS-RP offers wide international visibility and a platform to share breakthroughs in emerging technologies, fundamental science, and strategic applications.

Key Benefits for Photonics Finland Members:

  • Reduced Article Processing Charges – Members of Photonics Finland benefit from discounted article processing charges, making it more cost-effective to share their results with the global scientific community.
  • Enhanced International Visibility – EOS actively promotes JEOS-RP publications through its communication channels, including newsletters, website features, social media, and events.
  • Recognition and Awards – The annual EOS Prize is awarded to the best JEOS-RP paper, including a plenary talk at EOSAM, free registration, and promotion across EOS communication platforms.
  • Influence on Journal Development – Photonics Finland will have representation on the JEOS-RP Advisory Board, allowing members to contribute to the journal’s content strategy and development.

Strengthening Finland’s Position in European Photonics

This agreement strengthens Photonics Finland’s role in the European research ecosystem, providing a direct channel to highlight Finnish photonics excellence.

“EOS highly values this collaboration with Photonics Finland, which reflects our shared commitment to strengthening European research in photonics. JEOS-RP provides our members with a rapid, peer-reviewed high-quality publication platform with a newly increased Impact Factor of 3.2 and a CiteScore of 3.6 for high visibility.”
– Emiliano Descrovi, President of the European Optical Society

”Through this collaboration, Photonics Finland members gain faster, more cost-effective access to a top-tier publication outlet – helping ensure that cutting-edge Finnish research receives the visibility it deserves.” Sanna Aikio, the President of the Board of Photonics Finland.
