On September 25, 2018, representatives of the networks Optence e.V. and bayern photonics e.V. in Wetzlar signed the shareholder agreement to found the joint Photonics Hub GmbH, setting the course for a promising future for the two networks.
Optence – In the field of optical technologies Germany has numerous small and medium-sized companies, global players with first-rate innovative potential and high-profile research institutes. To boost innovative capacity and international competitiveness, networking and pooling of resources are becoming increasingly important.
For 15 years Optence e.V. has been active as a regional innovation network for optical technologies. It forms a link between industry and research and promotes the interests of its 110 members, regionally and nationwide.
bayern photonics is an cluster initiative of companies, research and education institutions to support optical technologies in Bavaria.
With more than 500 companies in the field of optical technologies, Bavaria is the number one location in Germany. Many leading global companies as well as highly innovative small and medium-sized companies are based in Bavaria. Photonics Cluster Bavaria.
11TH GERMAN-FINNISH CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR JOINT R&D PROJECTS BY SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES (SMES)
Business Finland and German ZIM programme are looking for inspiring market-oriented joint projects between small and medium-sized enterprises in Finland and Germany. The call is currently ongoing and is open until September 15, 2020.
Project ideas should stem from the companies’ own needs and can belong to any domain. The projects should involve the development of competitive and innovative products, services and processes.
