University of Turku

The University of Turku, located in Turku in southwestern Finland, is an active academic community of 25000 students and personnel.

University of Turku photonics research concentrates in the Department of Physics, Laboratory of Optics and Spectroscopy. The research group of quantum optics examine theoretically manipulation of cold atoms with external laser and magnet fields.

The research group of spectroscopy objectives are to develop new measurement methods and devices like interferometers and to develop spectroscopic counting methods, molecule spectroscopic, to produce infrared standards and product development together with industry. Also photonics research is being made in the Faculty of Medicine, where research is concentrated on study of fluorescence based molecules.
